THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
One
of Ian Liston's more enduring roles as an actor was
in the Star Wars epic The Empire Strikes Back
in which he played the part of Wes Janson,
one of the rebel pilots. With the recent re-issue of the
film and its enduring popularity worldwide, the character
of Wes has become something of a cult figure. Nearly a dozen
books and novels issued in recent years, based on the Stars
Wars films and characters, continue the Star Wars legends
where the films left off. There's a hugely popular board
game in which Wes features and he's also been 'morphed'
into new life in a number of hugely successful computer
games.
And, in case you're wondering, no, none of the actors have
received a penny extra for royalty or residual payments!
